Akebia quinata
Akebia quinata, also known as the Chocolate Vine, has five leaves. It spreads quickly as either a vine (give it some structure to hold onto) or a ground-cover.
Fragrant purple flowers with chocolate centers appear with the new growth in spring. To keep this plant within whatever bounds you want it to stay, prune after it flowers.
