Malus 'Prairiefire'
Excellent disease resistance. Upright, spreading structure becoming rounded with maturity. Attractive red-maroon foliage, ageing reddish-green. Crimson buds open to bright pinkish-red, single flowers.
Fruit is dark red, 3/8 to 1/2 inch and very persistent. Blooms later than most crabs. Very disease resistant.
