Deservedly one of the most popular of Japanese maples. This robust, low-growing, dense tree has large, multi-lobed, deep-red leaves that in early spring mature to a dark purple.
Scarlet winged seeds are another spring bonus. Bloodgood retains its namesake color well, even during the heat of summer, and turns crimson in the Autumn.
