Albizia julibrissin
Not just another alcoholic drink for brunch, this kind of Mimosa is a large deciduous shrub or small tree with a flat crown and fern-like, light-to-medium green, 12-18' fronds with double rows of oblong leaflets.
Best of all, in the heat of summer (when anything outrageous can happen) it produces terminal 3-6" clusters of fuzzy, spherical, pink or tannish-pink flower heads. These alone make this extraordinary Southern ornamental worth putting right in the middle of the front yard.
Re-seeds itself. Attracts: Hummingbirds * Deer Resistant *
