Aucuba japonica 'Gold Dust'

The most common of the aucuba cultivars, Gold Dust has tiny gold spots on its dark-green leaves. A broadleaf evergreen shrub growing 4-6' high, aucuba needs to be protected from direct overhead sunshine, which will burn the leaves. And it prefers well-drained soil: Soggy conditions will drown it. Prune in late winter; in our Zone 7b, this means February. Poisonous if eaten.
