Cortaderia selloana

Pampas Grass is a tall, upright, arching, ornamental grass with handsome 1' long, feathery, white plumes that appear mid summer and last into fall.

The plumes (inflorescents, actually) then dry and continue to stand tall well into winter. Native to southern South America, this distinctive grass acquired its common name from Argentina's grasslands, which are called the 'pampas'.

Note: The grass leaves have sharp edges, so handle with care.
