Ginkgo biloba 'Autumn Gold'
A living fossil, Ginkgo biloba, whose green leaves turn brilliant yellow in the fall, has been growing for 100 million years.
Tolerating a wide range of conditions, ginkoes are resistant to diseases, pests and even atomic bombs: In Hiroshima ginkgoes devastated by the 1945 blast are still growing today.
Autumn Gold is a male selection that is common in the trade and noted for its symmetrical crown that is broad and rounded.
