Lagerstroemia indica 'Watermelon Red'
Called Watermelon Red, this crape myrtle is really a bright, pinkish red. A beautiful and very popular crape myrtle growing to 20' or more. As with all crape myrtles, this one does best in full sun.
Blooms during the heat of the summer. Note: Regardless of hardiness zone, all crape myrtles are subject to die-back at temps below 15 degrees. Probability of this happening is increased by pruning in fall or winter. Prune only in earliest spring. Bloom will be on new wood.
