A deciduous tree of extremely open, irregular branching. Deeply fissured, corky bark, grey-brown in colour.
The outstanding characteristics of this tree are its wide, open habit and heavily textured bark, which give it year-round interest.
The Amur cork tree is easily transplanted because of its fibrous root system and tolerates city conditions as well as heat and drought. An excellent shade tree, its sparse foliage permits sufficient light to encourage the cultivation of grass in its shadow.
*Deer Resistant & Drought Tolerant*
This round short trunked tree with yellow compound leaves in the fall can spread to 40' wide and tall.
