Clethra alnifolia 'Ruby Spice'
Cary Award 2000 First Choice Award 1998 Non-fading deep reddish-pink flower spikes with spicy cinnamon scent to attract butterflies. Blooms in late summer. Lustrous dark green foliage; attractive yellow fall color. Prefers partial shade but does okay in full sun.
Prefers moist, acid soil. Tolerates wet soil. Requires mild winter protection in very cold/windy microclimates.
