Malus domestica 'Stayman'
The Stayman apple is a triploid cultivar (three chromosomes instead of two) that can consistently bear apples if no conditions like freezing or late frosts happen. Medium size apple good for cooking and fresh eating. Fruit color is light green with pinkish-red stripes. This crisp and juicy apple has sweet-tart taste. Sterile pollen - not a pollinator. Ripens early to mid October.
Requires 400 chill hours.
