Pyrus calleryana 'Chanticleer'

This pear is known by a couple of names; Chanticleer pear or Cleveland Select pear. An upright , narrowly pyramidal growth habit. Glossy, dark green leaves turn reddish-purple in fall.

White blooms cover this ornamental tree in early spring. This pear has a stronger limb structure than the Bradford Pear. Fire blight resistant. Tolerates early frosts and snow loads in winter. This tree can reach heights of 30-35' with a much more narrrow spread of 15-20'. Deer may eat buds.
