Ginkgo biloba 'Magyar'
A living fossil, Ginkgo biloba, whose green leaves turn brilliant yellow in the fall, has been growing for 100 million years. Tolerating a wide range of conditions, ginkoes are resistant to diseases, pest and even atomic bombs: In Hiroshima ginkgoes devastated by the 1945 blast are still growing today. Magyar is noted for its uniform symmetrical branching and upright narrow pyramidal form. This variety is also a male form. It will tolerate poor soil.
