Dense spikes of deep violet-purple flowers are produced in early summer and will continue longer if deadheaded. This clump forming plant has aromatic leaves when crushed. 18" in height with a similar spread.
It is drought tolerant, but blooms better with regular watering. Butterflies and hummingbirds are attracted to this plant. If you are searching for a container plant this is an excellent choice. Deadheading promotes a long bloom period; snip off spikes to side branches; cut stems back to the basal foliage to encourage a late-summer rebloom.
