The tiny, bright-purple berries of Early Amthyst appear sooner in the fall season than those of other varieties of beautyberry. It's especially beautiful in the landscape when planted with other fall-berry-producing shrubs such as Winterberry (deciduous holly) and Pyracantha. Good in borders, bird gardens, and as underplanting in open woodland.
