Especially attractive in containers but also very useful as a groundcover or as a clinging vine for a stone wall. After a year or two of setting down roots, it will become vigorous in its spread. Needlepoint is one of the varieties recommended as best for topiary purposes, because of its leaf density. It wiil climb trees at least 6 feet if opportunity arises, doing them no harm. Some what deer resistant because mildly toxic. Not notably invasive like the large leaf ivy.
