Hosta sieboldiana 'Sum and Substance'
Sum and Substance is one of the most popular of all hosta species because of its fairly large size, hardiness, and adaptability. Although, like all hostas, it prefers open or dappled shade, it likes more sun than most. You can site it in any direction but south. It must be sheltered to some degree.
The more shade it gets, the darker its green tint; the more sun, the brighter yellow. It is an excellent under-plant for shrubs and small trees. Large lavender racemes make good cut flowers. American Hosta Society multiple award winner. * Deer May Browse *
