Mid season bloomer (May) - Form is dense under ideal conditions, will become more open in dense shade or unfavorable sites. foliage is dark green and leathery. Partial shade to full sun. Moist, cool, acidic, well-drained soil. Avoid dry, hot windswept sites. Removal of spent blossom will encourage new growth and flower bud set.
