Houttuynia cordata Chameleon

Houttuynia makes a unique groundcover, accent or border plant. However, it spreads by rhizomes, and if not controlled by containers or barriers like walls and sidewalks, it can be invasive.

This especially attractive Chameleon variety has heart-shaped foliage that includes variations from fuchsia, scarlet, and gold to creamy white and rich green, depending on the amount of sunlight it gets; the more sunlight, the more color; also tolerates heavy shade, in which case it is mostly green. It grows best in moist, even watery, conditions.

*Deer Resistant*
