Hydrangea serrata 'Tuff Stuff' #28672.
New hardy, Re-blooming Hydrangea. Provides months of blooming enjoyment. Extremely interesting reddish-pink lacecap flowers. Creates masses of color from early summer until frost. Once your Tuff Stuff has been planted into the ground, it will fill out & become a denser shrub.
The semi-double to double florets begin with creamy coloration in the center before maturing to intense pink. Acidity in soil can shift the color from pink to blue. Tolerates Full Sun IF consistent moisture is provided.
PRUNING: Dead-head spent flowers only, just after blooming is finished for the year. Blooms occur on new & old wood. Also, Prune weak or winter damaged stems in early Spring. Native to Japan - referred to as 'the Tea of Heaven'
BEFORE PLANTING: Keep in mind how big the shrub will be at maturity. Space your shrub away from your home a little over 1/2 the spread length. For instance: if your mature spread is 6' then plant it (at least) 4' from the base of your home.
