Citrus trifoliata
This is a thorny shrub or small tree from the citrus family, native to China. It has glossy dark green three-lobed leaves, and grows up to almost 20 feet tall. The plant prefers well-drained acidic soil in a sunny location, blooms in mid-spring, and produces showy orange fruit in early fall. However, the numerous sharp thorns make it unsuitable for high traffic areas.
