Carya illinoinensis 'Oconee'
Type I Bears at an early age. Large nut easy crack shell. Unprotected young trees may be susceptible to sun scald. Hardy to 0-10 degrees F(zones 6-10). Pecans prefer slightly acid soil (pH 5.5-6.5).Pollinators Avalon, Caddo, Cherryle, Elliott, Gafford, Kanza, Kiowa and McMillan
Pecan fertilizer has extra zinc, which is required for good nut production (12-4-8 with a unit of zinc). Fertilize 2 times each year in February and May.
